Denise Coates, the founder and Chief Executive of Bet365 has been awarded the prestigious Commander of the British Empire (CBE) for 2012 for her community service work.
Denise is the daughter of Peter Coates; the chairman of Stoke City Football Club. She founded the betting company in Stoke-on-Trent with just a few people. And now Bet365 employs more than 1,700 people, which is one of the biggest companies in the industry and the largest private employer in the area.
The company which offers online and mobile gaming has reported profits of £93.7 million and a turnover of £439 million recently. Denise holds more than 50% of the shares in the company.
Denise’s father, Peter said that they are very happy and proud of her, stating that she has done wonders for Bet365, building it up from nothing to an empire.
Denise feels honored by this award and has thanked everyone at Bet365 for their support and commitment.
